Helsinki, Finland

The very next day we got another taste of Scandinavia by stopping in Helsinki, Finland. Right outside the ship was a souvenir shop. It was pretty interesting and many of the souvenirs felt very Canadian in style. We didn’t hang around too long and took one of the shuttle buses into the centre of the city.

Unfortunately one of the major landmarks was closed due to renovations so we had decided to just explore the city on our own. The city was very nice and we apparently blended in very well as Kelly got mistaken for a local. Helsinki was very similar in feel to it as compared to Stockholm. The streets were wide but not crowded and it was a nice scenic city to just walk around and enjoy the day.

Since there weren’t any other major landmarks we wanted to see besides the one that was closed we decided to head back to the ship after our self guided walking tour.
